Tuition and Fees 2008

One of the goals of Spotlights is to provide affordable dance and theatre instruction without sacrificing quality and professionalism. Below you will find tuition rates and other applicable fees. And, because if we could have it our way, every student would dance, payment arrangements can be made on an individual basis for families with special circumstances or multiple dancers.

Tuition Rates(Dance and Theatre)- Tuition rates will vary depending on the number of classes a student takes. Generally, tuition is $50.00 per month for 1 class per week. $95.00 per month for 2 classes per week and $135.00 per month for 3 classes per week. If a student wishes to take 3 or more classes per week, tuition will be adjusted accordingly. Tuition is due the first class of the first week of every month. Please see late fees below.

Registration- Registration is $25.00 per student or $40.00 per family. The registration covers each dancer for a lifetime!!!

Recitals- Spotlights will have two productions per year. The Winter Wonderland show in December and a formal recital in June. The recital fee for the December show is $50.00 and includes a professionally produced DVD (1 per family), a half page section in the program to include a picture of the dancer and a place for family sentiments, and photo shoot sitting fees. The recital fee for the June show is $100.00 and includes a DVD (1 per family), Tickets to the show for each family, photo shoot sitting fees, and a half page section in the program to include a picture of the dancer and a place for family sentiments (1 half page for each dancer). Additional DVD's may be purchased at the studio.

Costumes- Costumes fees are $70.00 per costume for each dance that the student will be performing in. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due by 9/30 for the winter show and by 1/30 for the spring recital. All remaining balances must be paid in full before costumes are distributed to students for pictures and recital.

Adult classes- For our adult students, a punchcard may be purchased for $110.00. Each card is valued for 11 classes that you may take at your convenience. Punch cards do not expire, however, refunds will not be given for classes not taken.

Individual/Class Photos- Students will be photographed in costume before each recital. Photo proofs will be available online and all photos can be purchased through the photography comapny.

Private Lessons- Private lessons are available for ballet, Pointe, jazz, tap and modern dance. Private lessons are $50.00 per hour.

Accounts- All accounts must be paid in full 5 days prior to each recital. Any accounts that have remaining balances after this time, your dancer/s will not be permitted to dance in the show. (Winter or Spring)

Late Fees- Tuitions not paid after the 7th of the month will incur a $10.00 late fee. After the 15th is a $20.00 late fee. Costume deposits and balances not paid after the due date incur a $10.00 late fee per week until paid. Recital deposits and balances not paid after the due date incur a $10.00 late fee per week until paid.

Studio Closings- Spotlights follows the Virginia Beach School Systems holiday schedule. In case of early closing for inclement weather, studio will also be closed.

Newsletters- Spotlights emails and posts a monthly newsletter with important information, closings, due dates, and birthdays.

In the Spotlight Dance Center accepts cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover for your convenience. There is a $45.00 charge for all returned checks.
