Theatre Curriculum:

Musical Theatre A- Students ages 6-11 are introduced to the basic skills of dancing on stage to plot centered music in Broadway style. They will begin to explore dramatic movement and how emotional recall is incorporated into the theatrics of the choreography they are learning through acting skills, movement exercises, dance technique, and dance combinations.
Class meets Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm in the Dance Studio.

Musical Theatre B - Students ages 12 and up are introduced to vocal training and Broadway style theatrical dance. The exploration and development of choreography for the Broadway musical theatre dance technique is given to students in a workshop format where students will study the techniques used to further the plot, develop character relationships and enhance the framework of a musical through the use of choreography, voice, and acting skills. Class meets Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the a

Special rates are available to students enrolled in dance and theatre. Previous experience not required.

Spotlights School of Dance and Theatre, now In the Spotlight Dance Center, was founded to instill a love of dance and theatrics in a nurturing and positive environment. The director's goal is to make dance and theater available to everyone in hopes that through the arts, every students will take with them the confidence and esteem to reach any goal in life.
